Challenging The System

Anyone that follows me knows I don’t roll a certain way. Unlike a host of other people I respect and follow for daring to be different during a tumultuous time, I haven’t suffered the consequences.

However, one day it could come from the power above. Every day we post something on a social media account via Facebook. Twitter or Instagram, we are subject to whatever Big Tech wants to do. They have already fact checked a couple of my posts on FB and IG. But nothing further.

Of course, the fact checkers are questionable sources at best who lean a certain way. So, unlike the minions who are oblivious to what’s happening, I don’t put much stock in these slanted “fact checkers.

I know they’re not all they’re cracked up to be. So does an important person in young, intelligent Republican female voice Candace Owens. She’s worth a follow on any social media platform. It’s because the 32-year old former Democrat is daring and willing to challenge the system that is very real and dangerous to our future.

Unless you prefer censorship, which seems to be the scary direction this country is headed, you should be concerned. I follow an outstanding writer on WordPress who puts out a quality blog addressing some of these very issues. She also is very unique and creative if you love food recipes. I highly recommend you follow her fantastic blog. It’s called beautybeyondbones. She has a incredible story to tell for those who struggle with personal demons. Her religious faith is a huge reason for her success. I applaud ๐Ÿ‘ her.

Here’s the thing. When we put ourselves out there and link our hard work, it’s subject to the darker powers who are censoring us. She had a excellent piece flagged on Facebook for no reason. Mark Zuckerberg is a very corrupt and evil person. Apparently, he has company. Hopefully, something positive happens with the bigs who have been taken to court for what they’re doing.

Here’s what I know. This is America! Land of the free. Home of the brave. Every time a blog, article or post gets flagged, it’s a violation of our basic fundamental rights. There is something called the First Amendment, which allows everyone the right to Freedom Of Speech. That’s in The Constitution.

By censoring different voices, they’re basically saying we’re not allowed to have an opposing viewpoint. That’s the opposite of Democracy. This is coming from one side.

Hint: It isn’t Republicans. As someone who was a lifelong Democrat, I’m ashamed of what they’ve become. They are no longer the same party that had principles. It’s all about authoritative power and control. That isn’t constitutional. It’s a lie.

When I see people I am friendly with being silenced on social media, it’s troublesome. They’ll go to great lengths to do it. Take my friend. I obviously responded as did a good friend who lives in NYC and believes in real values. Not this nonsense.

He’s right. But here’s the thing. If we pick up and leave, they win. Sure. You can use the opposite viewpoint like my closest friend, who deleted both his Facebook and Twitter accounts. He feels that it’s better to move elsewhere.

I could do that. But then, I’d be giving up the great friends I’ve made over a decade. Those are the only interactions I care about. Checking up on friends, who aren’t stubborn. And for those who are and revealed themselves, good riddance. There are a lot of frauds out there. But there are still genuine people who aren’t so judgemental that I can chat with. Those are the true shining stars โญ๐ŸŒŸ.

In responding to what happened to my friend who is from the Midwest, I’m not shy about how I feel. I never have been. If the powers to be want to do something about it, be my guest.

Personally speaking, I’m not talking about the loyal Democrats who are moderates like I was and still am. I know there’s a split which threatens to further damage our country. Of course, I’m referring to progressives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar. Their views are too radical and divisive. While Cortez might have some good ideas, defunding the police is ludicrous.

Go take a hard look at Oregon, who have the far left extremist group Antifa. They also voted yes to allowing people use dangerous drugs like heroin and cocaine. Yikes. No arrest for possession. Oh boy.

I’m also not a big fan of the BLM movement. I have my reasons. I’d rather not get into that. Black Lives Do Matter! I love all my black friends and treat everyone with respect. Love everyone. That’s my message.

The further away they drive the movement, the worse off it’ll be. In case you haven’t noticed, crimes are up in NYC and even here in Staten Island. You can cite other examples in other places like Chicago and Portland. Anyone who thinks this is normal needs to just check out.

Many New Yorkers are leaving the city. Between the blatant disrespect for law enforcement, rising crimes and the failure of Governor Cuomo to do a better job controlling COVID-19, which sadly also falls on ignorant people that live out here, there are many reasons to want out. I get why Staten Island is currently yellow. Not everyone listens. It isn’t hard to follow simple rules. I ranted about that very issue a week ago. Then our borough got flagged.

However, by again placing a 10 PM curfew on businesses such as bars and restaurants, it will further hurt the economy. How many businesses can survive? The second wave was going to come. It’s finally here as we are in the middle of November with moderate Fall temperatures. More people are going outside. Now, you go out and it’s a ghost town by 9 PM. I went for coffee on a Saturday night. It was empty. Sad times.

I don’t know what the answer is. What I do know is Mr. Cuomo likes to double talk a lot. He changed his mind by deciding to keep public schools open since the pandemic rate isn’t high. That’s a plus. But he also needs to stop promoting his book that is cashing in on a pandemic in which he made a big mistake with the nursing home debacle. That’s selfish. I also don’t care for his war of words with President Trump. Shut up. Be accountable. At least he despises the do nothing Mayor.

As far as the control we currently see on social media platforms, it doesn’t bode well for anyone. We don’t live in China or North Korea. This shouldn’t be tolerated. Even Bill Maher came out against them censoring Trump’s Head of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Mark Morgan for a Tweet where he expressed an opinion. If he can see it, why can’t more?

Suspending accounts like the New York Post for investigative reporting while former reliable sources, The New York Times and Washington Post sit on the sidelines, is brutal. How one-sided can they be?

The extreme biases are showing. It’s time for American citizens to stand up to these toxic radicals and fight back. Don’t let them win.
